Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art presents Armenian literature, theater, music and cinematography. The history of the museum begins in 1921.
The museum is seriously engaged in replenishment of funds and collections. The museum fund is constantly subjected to scientific  processing. The museum has a permanent display, but temporary exhibitions are often organized.
The exhibition of the museum consists of 5 exhibition halls. Armenian literature is presented in the first two, theater art in the 3rd, film art in the 4th, music art in the 5th.

The Museum of Literature and Art also has several branches: the Silva Kaputikyan House-Museum, the Derenik Demirchyan House-Museum, the Perch Proshyan House-Museum in Ashtarak, the Aksel Bakunts House-Museum in Goris, and the Hovhannes Tumanyan House-Museum in Dsegh.
